I had an appointment with my doctor today before my run. It seems that my knee isn't anything serious. It's just that I'm not as young as I used to be. He recommended a patella sleeve which should help keep my knee stable. He also recommended heat before I run and cold after I run.

I tried it out today. After putting a heating pad on the knee for 15 minutes, stretching well and putting on my patella sleeve, I headed out for my 4 mile run. I went in a different direction than usual. The route was tougher. Usually, I have one very long, not steep incline heading out and a slow decline coming back. This route, however, was alot of ups and downs. There were alot of short steep little hills. I made it about 3 miles when I had to take a walk in the middle of one of these inclines. After a minute walk, I resumed and made it home.

The knee feels good. Much better than the 3 mile run yesterday without the brace.

Four miles done!
